Welcome to South East Sips

SIP (Structurally Insulated Panels) may seem like a new concept but infact it has been around for half a century, however it’s only in recent years that it’s really come over to England and the UK. As like many good ideas, the product (polyurethane & polystyrene) originated from Germany and has spread across the globe where it’s most commonly used in the US.

Many advances in the building industry have been made in recent years, but most are only polished versions of what has really been used for centuries.

The traditional timber frame that is popping up everywhere has really been used since before the tudor era, we’ve just simply made it more efficient and accurate with it's performance.

Now stemming from the timber frame has become other advances like what South East SIPS produce. With the clue in the title, we use SIP’s to create modular buildings of various shapes and sizes.  Like with timber frame, the product can be erected extremely fast, but unlike timber frame, our product is already insulated saving more on build time.

The panels have taken many forms with the insulation and outer panel been made from various materials. The most common types found are to have an OSB skin with either a Polystyrene or polyurethane core.  Here at South East SIPS we like to use the latter because it provides a much better U-Value for the thickness of panel.
